Two Free tickets? Where? Endless Possibilities

Daily writing prompt
If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

There are so many breathtaking places on this beautiful planet that I dream of exploring. But if I had to decide, I’d likely return to Turkey—specifically, Cappadocia. I’ve long wanted to cross a hot air balloon ride off my bucket list, and there’s no better place to do it than over Cappadocia’s dreamlike terrain. The region is absolutely stunning—its fairy chimneys, cave dwellings, and carved churches feel like something from another world. As someone with a deep love for history and culture, Turkey offers a rich tapestry of both.

With my second ticket, I’d journey to a place I’ve yet to experience—Italy. My heart beats faster just thinking about it. I want to walk through the Colosseum, where Roman gladiators once battled in epic showcases of strength and spectacle for the emperors of Rome. But beyond that, I’d seek out the temples—sacred, silent, and eternal.

One in particular calls to me: the Temple of Hercules Victor. Its circular design and ancient marble columns stand as a hauntingly beautiful reminder of Rome’s mythological and architectural grandeur. I imagine standing in its presence, breathing in the centuries of history and reverence that still echo in the stone.

I’d also visit the Pantheon, a temple built for all gods, and the Temple of Saturn, which watches solemnly over the ruins of the Roman Forum. Each site is a portal to a past world—an invitation to stand in awe, to feel the weight of time, and to be humbled by the craftsmanship of civilizations long gone.

To walk among these ruins would feel like stepping into a time forge. In those moments, I know I’d feel deeply alive—reminded of how wide and wonder-filled the world truly is.
